- Aurélie Pertusot (1983) jest francuską artystką wizualną i dźwiękową, mieszkającą i pracującą w Berlinie i Nancy. Tworzy szeroką gamę dzieł, w tym instalacje, rysunki i performansy. Regularnie uczestniczy w sesjach improwizacji muzycznej i wizualnej w ramach swoich badań, a od 2011 roku wspiera wymianę artystyczną między Niemcami a Francją, koncentrując się na związkach między przestrzenią, architekturą i dźwiękiem.
Pochodzi z Nancy, gdzie w 2007 roku uzyskała tytuł magistra w École Nationale Supérieure d’Art w Nancy, otrzymując wyróżnienie jury. W 2008 roku była współzałożycielką duetu „Les Trotteuses”, który tworzy koncerty muzyki eksperymentalnej, wykorzystując wyłącznie budziki. W latach 2016-2018 brała udział w projekcie badawczym z zakresu sztuki dźwięku „Arthesis” w Szkole Sztuk Pięknych ENSA w Bourges (fr.). Jej prace były nominowane do Neuköllner Kunstpreis (Berlin) w 2019 roku oraz nagrody André Evard w 2015 roku. Jest absolwentką i stypendystką programu Exercising Modernity oraz stypendystką Fundacji Künstlerdorf Schöppingen (Niemcy) w 2021 i 2019 roku. Jej prace i performanse były prezentowane w Europie i Azji (La Maison Romaine w Épinal, festiwal Soundseeing w Künstlerdorf Schöppingen, Centre Pompidou w Metz i Paryżu, Quiet Cue, Galerie Mario Mazzoli i Noiseberg w Berlinie, Cave 12 w Genewie, Biennale w Göteborgu, Fyns Museum w Odense, Ny Musikk w Bergen Kunsthall, Open Mex w Dortmundzie, a ostatnio w A4 Musem w Chengdu).
W 2023 roku została zaproszona na wystawę indywidualną „Gh-Ostalgies” w Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej Łaźnia w Gdańsku. W 2021 roku jej monograficzna wystawa „Concentration” w Musée des Beaux Arts de Nancy (fr.) podkreśliła różnorodność jej twórczości. Z tej okazji dwie jej instalacje trafiają do kolekcji muzeum.

Aurélie Pertusot is a French visual and sound artist living and working in Berlin and Nancy. She creates a wide variety of pieces including installations, drawings and performances. She engages in regular musical and visual improvisation sessions as part of her background research and since 2011 she has been facilitating artistic exchanges between Germany and France focussing on the links between space, architecture & sound.
She was born in 1983 in Nancy and in 2007 she obtained her master’s degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Art in Nancy, receiving a special mention from the jury. In 2008 she co-founded the duo 'Les Trotteuses' to create concerts of experimental music exclusively using alarm clocks. From 2016 to 2018 she took part in the sound-art research project 'Arthesis' at the ENSA Fine Arts School in Bourges (fr). Her work has been nominated for the Neuköllner Kunstpreis (Berlin) in 2019 and the André Evard prize in 2015. She was a fellow of exercizing modernity academy in 2022 and a fellow of the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen Foundation (de) in 2021 and 2019. Her pieces and performances have been presented in Europe and Asia (La maison Romaine in Epinal, Soundseeing festival in Künstlerdorf Schöppingen, Centre Pompidou Metz & Paris, Quiet Cue, Galerie Mario Mazzoli & Noiseberg in Berlin, Cave 12 in Genevia, Gothenburg Biennial, Fyns Museum in Odense, Ny Musikk at Bergen Kunsthall, open mex in Dortmund, and more recently in A4 Musem in Chengdu).
2023 she was invited for a solo show « Gh-Ostalgies » at Laźnia Contemporary Art Center in Gdansk (pl). In 2021, her monographic exhibition « Concentration » at the Musée des Beaux Arts de Nancy (fr) emphasized the diversity of her practice. At this occasion, 2 of her installations enters the museum's collections.

Układ urbanistyczny i formy gdyńskiej architektury wywodzą się z unikalnego nadmorskiego krajobrazu miasta, naznaczonego bliskością morza, wiatru i światła. Dialog między środowiskiem architektonicznym i naturalnym znajduje również swoje odzwierciedlenie w podejściu artystycznym Aurélie Pertusot. Jej instalacje, dostosowane do konkretnego miejsca, wyrastają z powierzchni, materialnych i niematerialnych właściwości oraz form, które definiują dane miejsce.
Na wystawie Shifting Horizons jej prace wydają się wyłaniać ze ścian, okien i podłoża, zmieniając sposób ich postrzegania. Redefiniują granice między konstrukcją a interwencją artystyczną, podkreślając porowatą relację między dziełem sztuki a otoczeniem.
Współbrzmiąc z modernistyczną architekturą Gdyni i jej krajobrazem, wystawa oferuje różnorodne doświadczenia tego typu niematerialnych obszarów „pomiędzy” – zarówno tych fizycznych, jak i mentalnych, zawsze ulotnych i będących w ruchu. Część prac na wystawie zostało specjalnie dostosowanych do ich nowego kontekstu, odpowiadając bezpośrednio na specyficzne warunki przestrzeni wystawienniczej.

Shifting Horizons
Exhibition by Aurélie Pertusot
In Gdynia, the urban layout and architectural forms derive from city's unique coastal landscape – shaped by its proximity to the sea, the wind, and the light. This dialogue between architecture and the natural environment also resonates in the artistic approach of Aurélie Pertusot. Her site-responsive installations emerge from the surfaces, material and immaterial qualities, and forms that define the particular site.
In the exhibition, her works appear to emerge from walls, windows, and the ground, transforming their perception. They challenge the boundaries between structural support and artistic intervention, highlighting the porous relationship between artwork and environment.
By resonating with Gdynia’s modernist architecture and its landscape, the exhibition offers a variety of experiences of intangible transitional spaces, whether physical or mental ones, always fleeting and being in motion. Several of the works have been specially adapted for this context, responding directly to the specific conditions of the exhibition space.
